It's only been 2 weeks and my Dreamstation's ultra fine filter is already looking dirty. It says to replace them every 30 days but it doesn't look good to me. I can't order new ones at the moment because I'm on a tight budget. (I'm so sick of living paycheck to paycheck). Is it OK to just take it out and just use the washable filter? The tech that set up my machine said to replace them when they get dirty, but I'm not sure if he said that just so his company can make more money.

check ebay and amazon for *MUCH* cheaper filters.

And, yes, you can use just the washable filter if you wish.

The fine filters get grubby looking quite quickly and it is just fine dust that gets trapped in it. They are usually to help with allergies, so it will be fine without it if you do not have any.
