How come I don't have the option to change my IPAP setting on my ASV machine under Auto ASV? Thanks.

Because you don't need an IPAP setting. By default IPAP is nothing more than Minimum/Maximum EPAP plus PS.

If you're referring to a ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV, there is IPAP it's just not a setting you directly control like EPAP and PS. The ASV algorithm has control of IPAP. I run my ASV in ASVAuto, so think of IPAP this way, again basing use on ASVAuto, I'll give you my current settings to show you what I mean, and these BTW are settings my new pulmonary doc wants me to try before he might consider treating my Overlap syndrome with a ventilator AVAPS.
Take my EPAP of 4-15 and PS of 0-10. Here IPAP ranges between 4-25 as IPAP is the sum of EPAP plus PS. I look at my ASVAuto mode as 3 CVT transmissions from a car. Each of EPAP, PS, and IPAP range each independent of the others between the Min and Max, but each do affect the others.
That is my story and I'm stickin' with it.

Thank u to those who responded. I feel as I'm fighting my ASV. For instance, last night I had 1.2 episodes per hour during 6.30 hours of sleep. I awoke like I went through an intense work out. The settings on my machine for EPAP are 4-15 and the PS setting are 3-15. I also wake up with a headache and am totally dried out. I use the humidifier which is set at 6 with tube temp set at 75. Not matter what I do, I always wake up feeling exhausted. Anymore suggestions? Thank you.

G'day Millsteve21.
ASV machines can take some getting used to and need to be tuned to your requirements. But once it's dialled in, sleeping with an ASV becomes very comfortable.
We need to see exactly what's happening with your breathing and how the machine is responding. The tool to use is Oscar free software. See the links in my signature below to download the program and use it to chart your results. Then upload some daily pages here and we can give you some targeted advice.

How long have you been using this machine? Is this the first cpap machine you have ever used?

I'd like to see an OSCAR report. Right now you're still on default titration start settings. We can edit the settings to optimize them for you. It helps to start sessions relaxed and having a rather calm breath rate. If you are anxious about therapy it's likely to set breathing into a variable ragged rate and the ASV will attempt to mimic that so obviously you'd not want this. I have the same machine and it will deliver great therapy but you have to set it accordingly to your specific needs and approach it calmly.

I've been using this machine for a while now. Unfortunately I don't think I've had a sleep doctor who really knows what they're doing in regards to my sleep issues. Not one that I know of has ever asked for the Oscar report mentioned in a couple of post. I will see if I can download the report and post it on this page. Maybe someone who actually lives with using a CPAP can help? Note I'm not having any problems with using or sleeping with the machine other than I'm not getting the beneficial results of using the ASV machine. Thanks.

Having problems downloading OSCAR to my laptop, says it might corrupt my PC. Using Windows 10 (64 bit) with Norton antivirus software. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I forgot to mention my ASV machine is the ResMed AirCurve 10 and it's running in ASV Auto mode. Thanks.

You can ignore the warning. Oscar is developed by a small community of (mainly) retired professionals who are all apneacs themselves. As a small volunteer organisation they don't have the resources to submit the software to all the anti-virus companies. Norton and others (including Windows Defender) mark it as unknown and hence potentially dangerous. Read the installation instructions and you'll find some suggestions to overcome the problem. Your virus software will have a facility to approve unknown programs or run them anyway. http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... n:_WindowsYou have an excellent machine - probably the best on the market - it just needs to be set to your particular needs. In our experience many doctors and respiratory technicians don't really understand ASV, as it's not something they see every day. Just yesterday I had to explain to a doctor (admittedly a specialist in a different field) the difference between obstructive and central sleep apnea.

Yes be sure OSCAR is to be trusted. I've been on the beta team off and on. I've had to make my own way on an ASV. I do know members at Apnea Board helped a lot in getting started on therapy, how to self advocate, and how to do my own titration on the ASV. This ASV is the same as I have now, but I'll be on a second ASV as of tomorrow; likely it's the DreamStation SVAuto as it does have time controls I lack now. Regardless, this ASV is very easy to set. Mode ASVAuto EPAP Min/Max and PS Min/Max then your comfort stuff, skip the Ramp as I feel it makes therapy worse regarding CA. A shame Dr. Duck can't grasp the concept but some hick guy in PA gets it.

Loaded the Oscar software but now my laptop, a HP 2000 with Windows 10 (64 bit) won't recognize the drive for the Resmed card. Great. Is anything easy these days? Trying to load drivers for the drive.

OK, I was able to load the files from the ResMed SD card to my laptop and was able to view results in Oscar. My next question is how to I load the file from my laptop to this site? It's a rather large file as I've had this SD card in my ASV machine for a while. Thanks.

Screen shot of a typical nightly detailed report is usually where we start. We don't want the entire data file. Just a recent detailed night. We don't want all the graphs either. Just do the basics and if someone wants something else they will ask. You can get all we need on one screen shot. So that it looks like this...AHI and bar graphs on the left and these graphs on the right Events Flow rate Pressure Leak Example below......except hide the calendar. This one I didn't but I had it handy to show as an example. Hiding the calendar lets the AHI and statistics move into view. Attachment:

With my situation and as long as it's been going on, I'd like to provide as much data as I can (not the entire file though). As I just changed my setting for the first time last weekend, I'll try and provide a week's worth prior to changing my settings and the week since I changed my settings. Thanks...

I think we can see a decent idea even with 1 or 2 shots, if you want 1 old 1 new then OK. But even so, I don't think it'll take much more to figure it out, and come up with some suggestions. Please include your feedback on the answer to "how do you feel?" as in after or during therapy.

It's not a copy / paste process. Use the full editor, not the quick reply. Below the window for your text there will be a section to upload your file. That's what you need to use.

Not sure what you're referring too? Don't see anything about uploading my file. In Oscar, I went to the View option and used the Take Screenshot option. I have a couple of screenshots saved in a folder on my laptop.
