I am using a Resmed Airsense Autoset 10 with humidifier and heated hose and pillows. I had quit for about 6 months and started back on it Friday night. Previous use worked fine. Using exact same set up and equipment.

Now I am awakened by the driest mouth I have ever experienced. It wasn't a problem before. I am on the auto Ramp setting that starts at 7. My pressure setting is from 9-16.

I use the sleepyhead software and here is some info. based on the last year:

Average pressure is 10
Highest pressure was 14

Gone from a 5% leak rate to a 20% leak rate

Temp 79
Humidity 5

Before I change masks or buy a chin strap, do you have some suggestions for changing some of the settings.

Breathing through your mouth caused dry mouth and large leak.

But I don't think I breathe through my mouth without the CPAP??

Hmm...maybe getting 6 months older has relaxed my jaw muscles. LOL

I have noticed when I first putt my mask on, it seems difficult to breathe.
I may take it off of the Auto Ramp.

I use a soft cervical collar. It keeps my mouth closed so air doesn't blow out of my mouth and reduces dry mouth.

Dry mouth is usually caused by your mouth opening in your sleep and air escaping. I use my AirSense 10 on auto ramp. I have changed the humidity and temperature setting FROM auto. I noticed that I was getting a dry throat on auto climate. I can't tell you what I have them set at because I am not near it. Maybe increase the humidity and temperature settings to see if this helps.
