Has anyone had any experience using their CPAP machine while onboard a flight since the COVID mask regulations were instituted?
I called an airline to find out if I could use the nasal pillows and wear a mask over my mouth and I was told by the representative that what they were told is that a CPAP mask that covers both mouth and nose could be used without a face covering, but a CPAP mask that only has nasal pillows would require a face covering.
I guess I'll either buy another CPAP mask that also covers the mouth or figure out how to wear a face mask while wearing my CPAP mask. I wonder if a gaiter scarf would be the easiest way.

It's the vented air out the mask that is the potential problem and why they are okay with a full face mask vs a nasal mask is just stupid.
They both vent the air out into the room air space via the vent holes.

Someone making up the airline rules doesn't understand cpap and venting which isn't surprising.

I have no experience using a PAP of any flavor COVID or not, but if they just need face covered or a full face mask, it's a toss up. You get to decide, but maybe some face covering is the one easier to do. Early on in the COVID mask requirement, I just got a 3 pack of bandanas at the dollar store and folded one into a triangle and tied it in a knot to hold it over my face. It is a face covering. Then again there is this plexiglass face shield that I have that is also a face covering. So really take your pick and go with it.

Bet this is the only time in history we see lots of people roaming around at an airport and they aren't getting arrested.

BTW I had a sleep study late last month at a local hospital so I may progress towards an AVAPS ventilator. The tech had to suit up as if the room was a hazmat site when she came in to unhook the wires after the test. She gave me the mask as they didn't even want to get near it. No I'm not exaggerating.
