PAP Mask: ResMed AirFit P10
PAP Machine: ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset
Humidifier: ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset
Pressure Setting: 5 to 15

I'm nearing 30 days of PAP use and my first visit with the doc since we started. I still find myself waking up just as I drift off to sleep. I'm gasping for air and just as scared as when I didn't have therapy. This week I will start analyzing my own data to see if I can adjust my exhalations. My machine is set to 5-15 for pressure, but I've never seen higher than 6.5 on the display. I suspect I need a little more than 7 for the inhale pressure and something a little lower for exhale. I also really suspect that I just need convincing that the machine won't let me down.

Does this really work?

When I do sleep with my machine, I wake up tired but not as wasted as without the PAP. I just need to sleep longer and without fear.

Thanks for sharing ideas and thoughts,

5 is too low a min pressure for almost everybody.

5 is the new 4, set by lazy doctors.

if 6.5 is the highest you're seeing, what's wrong with raising the minimum to 7 and the max to 10 and see what happens?

Max is insignificant, leave it at 20.
