So a little background was diagnosed with sleep apnea with an AHI of 95 about two months ago and have been using APAP for about 6 weeks. My resp specialist and sleep people seem very content on just leaving my machine on auto 6-20 but I found I was having a lot of events while the machine was ramping up My AHI was around 4.

I've since increased my pressure to 12-20 and seems a lot better. I also turned EPR on ramp only (tried sleeping without it and couldn't fall asleep). I also Turned my ramp pressure up to 8 which i feel inflated my mask more and made it much more comfortable.

I'm pretty happy to tinker with things and I'm very thankful at how easily managed my apnea has been considering how bad it was.

Typing isn't my strong point so sorry if its hard to read. i hope i formatted my oscar reports good enough.

G'day Tim, welcome to the forum.

An untreated AHI of 95 is extremely high, and to get it down into single figures is a great achievement. Your decision to raise the minimum pressure from 6 to 12 was obviously correct, as borne out by your results. The main question now is "how do you feel?" Great numbers are one thing - getting refreshing sleep is does not always follow automatically.

The one suggestion I'd make at this stage is to consider reducing the ramp time. While ramp is operating you're not really getting any therapy, so get it down as short as you can commensurate with comfort and being able to fall asleep.

Keep up the good work!

I'm definately feeling a lot better havent fallen asleep at the computer since i started and my mood has definately improved i feel more like myself i kinda went at it with the attitude of i need to get on top of this and everything seems to be going well. The ramp is actually set on auto just shows 45 in OSCAR. i thought it looked like it was kicking in at the right time but I'm still getting my head around this stuff. your feedback is very much appreciated.
